Esplanade
Mile End, Montreal
A nearly abandoned triplex in Montreal’s Mile End neighborhood is completely restored and reimagined. The front facade was a restoration in line with the mirroring neighbouring building. The rear was reimagined with deep red brick, tying into the neighborhood’s 100 year old fabric. With new large, energy efficient window set deep in rear volume. On the interior, each of the three residences received show-stopping elements. An enormous vaulted ceiling, a large wooden volume, an impressive sculpted staircase and a scalloped ceiling all stand as timeless interventions into this project.
